Yes, each program features West African Style Drumming, Interactive Storytelling, Spoken Word, Call and Response, as well as well as factual information about history. Our goal is to engage and enlighten the audience through poetry and song. Our presentation will incorporate documentation of the Civil War between blood relatives, brothers, and friends. We will share narratives of Freedom and Emancipation, honor the work of the Freedman’s Bureau, Abraham Lincoln, Fredrick Douglas, also, we can uplift the importance of the efforts of the abolitionists , and Celebrate General Gordan Granger.

We can discuss the general ambiance and staging, the possibility of a artesian’s market-African fabric, hand made items, jewelry and misc self care products, live art or selfie booth with mud cloth , Kente’ cloth, and the library logo… and the drum circl workshop component, for community members to bring their own “hand” drums, or I can reach out to one of the drum masters if you’d like more activities creating a “Freedom Day” atmosphere .
